I just finished a ten-day course on Chakra Balancing with one of my meditation gurus on the Insight Timer. My guru’s name is Carmen Ng. According to her Insight Timer profile, Carmen is a music composer specialized in meditation and healing. I’ve been following Carmen’s work since May 2020. Carmen’s 10 to 20 minute courses 21-day Good Luck & Gratitude Affirmations, Remove Trauma, and Cultivate Abundance as You Sleep contributed a lot to my self development.
I’ve read about the chakras many times before. However, I guess no one explained them as clearly as Carmen did to me in her ten-day course 🙂 Below, I will mention some key points about each chakra. If you have fifteen minutes to dedicate for ten days, please try Carmen’s course. Carmen also teaches many other essential information about energy in her Chakra Balancing course.

1st Chakra: Root Chakra
Root chakra is located at the base of the spine. Its color is red, and its seed mantra is “LAM”. It’s associated with bodily organs such as colon, bones, adrenal glands and legs.
Yin nature: Desire to feel safe. Yang nature: Drive to survive
When root chakra is out of balance, feelings such as worries about money, not having satisfaction in life, or not having any future in sight may surface. Suffering from hemorrhoids may be an indication that this chakra is out of balance.
Doing grounding meditation as well as repeating the following affirmations may help:
I’m supported. I’m safe. I’m connected to this world. I have the right to be in this community.

2nd Chakra: Sacral Chakra
Sacral Chakra is located two to three inches below the belly button. Its color is orange and its seed mantra is “VAM”. It’s associated with bodily organs such as reproductive organs, bladder, kidneys and lower back. This chakra is related to sexuality, pleasure, creativity and connection with others.
Yin nature: Desire to feel pleasure. Yang nature: To gain satisfaction
When sacral chakra is out of balance skin irritation around sacral area, anemia, lower back pain, pms and sexual organ diseases may surface.
Repeating the following affirmations may help:
I’m grateful for the joy of being me. I honor my body and treat myself respectfully. I allow my creativity to flow through me freely.

3rd Chakra: Solar Plexus
Solar Plexus is located between the rib cage and the belly button. Its color is golden yellow, and its seed mantra is “RAM”. It’s associated with the organs of the digestive system, liver, gall bladder and pancreas. This chakra is related to ego, self definition, and pursuit of life goals.
Yin nature: Desire to feel confident Yang nature: Seek to gain power
When solar plexus chakra is out of balance, feelings of low self confidence and worthlessness, as well as difficulty in making decisions may arise. Poor digestion, bloating, nausea and diabetes may be related to malfunctioning of this chakra as well.
Repeating the following affirmations may help:
I alone define who I am. I use my power for good. I forgive myself for past mistakes, and I grow from them. I’m motivated to pursue my true purpose.

I will write about the remaining chakras in the my next post.
