Quotes That May Help You Deal With Disappointment

This is a wall paper at one of the hotels I’ve stayed in London. Wise words….

“Too many of us have the attitude, ‘It can happen to you but it can’t happen to me’. [Deleted name] took the attitude ‘If it can happen to someone else, it can happen to me’, which is a very nice, intelligent attitude.” (The Wisdom of Milton H. Erickson The Complete Volume, p.82)

“And we should be willing to feel, fully, the pleasures and the happiness that we want, as all our feelings are done by ourselves.” (The Wisdom of Milton H. Erickson The Complete Volume, p.83)

“Life is much better if it sometimes rains and sometimes it doesn’t.” (The Wisdom of Milton H. Erickson The Complete Volume, p.81)

I feel grateful to have read the above quotes right before I was made redundant for the third time in my life. Because I remember that, on the first two occasions, I had taken the redundancies very personally. And I had suffered a lot.

We are living through difficult times, but this shall pass too. Unfortunate things are happening to a lot of people around the world. Not just to me or you. Let’s be grateful for the little joys we have every day.

Stay safe…

Dear Reader, did you find this article useful? if yes, I’d really appreciate if you could share the link with your network. Thank you:)
